How To Prepare For Scalp Micropigmentation Treatment – You have had your consultation and now are excited and nervous for your appointment where you will get the worlds leading hair loss solution in history!

If you want to achieve the best results, then you want to plan properly for your treatment.

Scalp micropigmentation is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Pigment is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the scalp using a special machine.

This then creates the illusion of hair follicles. Scalp micropigmentation is non-surgical and non-invasive, but it is still a procedure that breaks the skin, so you and specifically your scalp need to be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated.

For any scalp micropigmentation procedure, you should avoid these things for 48 hours prior to your treatment

  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine
  • Garlic
  • Oily fish
  • Vitamin E or Omega 3

The reason for this is that they are all blood thinners.

The more you bleed during your treatment the more chance you have of the pigment been pushed back out of the scalp. The thinner your blood the more you will bleed.

Also having thin blood for a treatment like this can lead to excessive bruising and pigment migration.

Scalp micropigmentation works best on a very closely shaved scalp, the night before the procedure you should wet shave your scalp so when the treatment is done you will get better results.

Starting 2 weeks before your treatment you should avoid the sun, tanning and sun burn will cause skin cells to turn over quicker which will cause faster fading and make the procedure more painful.

Do not exercise on the day of treatment, if you do your skin will be oily which can prevent the pigment from retaining.
