What Does Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) For Women Involve?
First come to us for a free consultation. Every treatment is done on a face to face basis , so we can fully understand your situation and and what you would like to achieve. This is were we can see the affected area and decide on the amount and location that the SMP will be applied. Once we have decide were its going to be applied we will mix the pigment to match your hair. A micro-needle is used to create dots that replicate hair follicles to achieve the look of maximum density. While the process is normally pain free there may be a little discomfort in more sensitive regions like the temples. Our procedure requires 2-3 sessions which are completed within two to three weeks of each other. Each session will last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. And there’s hardly any down time, you can go straight back to work the same day. The results of Scalp Micropigmentation is effective for thinning hair, female pattern baldness, or even extreme cases, such as Alopecia.

The most common cause of female hair loss worldwide is female pattern baldness, which is also called androgenetic alopecia . Scalp Micropigmentation is essentially the process of having tiny dts added to your scalp cosmetically. The dots increase density to the hair for women over the course of the 3 sessions. It’s a great way of camouflaging hair loss or thinning hair. There’s no invasive surgery, no scarring or down time.
It depends on the amount of hair loss and the size of the area needing SMP. But in general any were from 1 – 4 hours. Yopu will need betwen 2 – 3 sessions to reach your desired results. It is a process of building up the layers and blend to gain a natural and even finish with your existing hair.
It hurts far less than having a normal tattoo, and certainly a lot less then a hair transplant. Because Scalp Micropigmentation doesn’t penetrate the skin as deeply as normal tattooing, most of our women feel very little discomfort and we usually chat throughout the process.
Scalp Micropigmentation will not disappear but over time will lighten. It depends on your lifestyle (outdoor) but you may need a touch up which is one session every 3 – 5 years.
This is discussed in detail after every session. But the tricky part for women is that you cannot cut or wash your hair for 5 days after every session. I always advise clients to colour and cut there hair before we start the process as care needs to be taken to keep the area clean and dry while healing. Apart from that you can carry on with life as normal.
Initially after the first treatment the pigments will look bolder as they are freshly deposited. Overnight you will notice the pigments softening and settling down. As for the redness, it will disappear in 48-72 hours. Intensity of redness is based on sensitivity of the skin, but more or less clients will notice significantly less redness 48 hours after the first treatment. After the initial settling process is finished, your treatment will look completely natural. Only close friends and family will see there is a difference, and that your hair is looking more dense.
