The Reality of One-Day SMP Treatments 🛑
Today, we welcome a client who has traveled all the way from Paris to begin his SMP removal journey after receiving a poor-quality treatment from a practitioner offering one-day SMP sessions.

⚠️ A reminder to anyone considering SMP: Quality work takes time. One-day SMP treatments might seem convenient, but the reality is that SMP requires multiple sessions for layering, blending, and natural healing. Always do your research 📚
As you can see, he is having to laser off the treatment to give him a blank canvas to start again properly.
The reason we do 3 separate sessions of scalp micropigmentation:
- The first session is done sparcily and lighter than the client's hair colour, this is why we cover the balding area's with a slightly lighter shade and start to form the hairline and side profile.
- The second session is where we can see from the healed version of session 1 what colour we are going to go to match the client's hair colour. Everyone is different Some clients skin absorbs the ink and some does not, so the first session is a great guide for matching the client's hair colour on session 2.
- The final session is where I normally add a darker colour tone through the top of the head into the crown to give us the fade up on the sides to the top of the head.
This was interesting to see this on Instagram, and scalp perfection made a good point that you need 3 separate sessions of SMP to give the shading neccessary to make your work look real.
The best compliment you can have from your client is that no one has noticed that you have a hair tattoo. And think you have just shaved your hair down.
